The last light of the day faded behind the distant mountains, casting a soft, diffused light that was scattered amongst the branches of the cold, still woods.
Mourning Fog
A single tree stood in the field, overlooking the bleak landscape, shrouded in the mantle of the morning's gray cloak. Behind the tree stood its brethren, clustered together, watching the lone tree brave the touch of the morning cold.
